Christen Bevan, MSW

I’m Christen Bevan, CEO of SCCS. With a background in social work and a commitment to addressing complex, intersectional issues, I’ve dedicated my career to advocating for individuals impacted by sexual violence and trauma. My journey in this field began years ago, igniting a deep passion for creating supportive, transformative spaces for those who have experienced adversity. Drawing on insights gained through my experiences across diverse cultural contexts, I bring a unique perspective to SCCS, where our work emphasizes empathy, resilience, and equity.

At SCCS, my role is to lead our mission-driven initiatives and to collaborate with our team to develop trauma-informed services that empower individuals to reclaim their sense of self and agency. Through our commitment to inclusive, client-centered care, we aim to address both the personal and systemic aspects of healing, fostering growth, connection, and well-being for all.

W. Jay Alarcon, LMFT

I’m Jay Alarcon, founder and clinical director of SCCS, a trauma-focused non-profit. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families facing complex challenges such as eating disorders, substance use, self-harm, chronic suicidality, sexual assault, military sexual trauma, personality disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, and PTSD.

At SCCS, I will oversee all therapeutic programs, and will supervise our team of therapists. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These trauma-informed, attachment-focused models allow us to collaboratively establish treatment goals and address underlying trauma and emotional distress. Together, we work to help clients find healthier ways to express emotions, experience their full selves, and build security in their relationships with others.

About SCCS

We founded SCCS because we believe that quality mental health care should be accessible to everyone, especially for communities facing financial challenges. For us, it’s not just about providing therapy, but about ensuring that people can actually reach the care they need. That’s why telehealth is so important to us, making therapy more accessible to those who may not have the means or ability to attend in-person sessions. When we envisioned SCCS, we knew accountability had to be at the core of our mission and vision, ensuring that we deliver compassionate, effective care while staying true to our values of accessibility and integrity.

Jessica Prado, LMFT

I’m Jessica Prado, a volunteer therapist at SCCS with a passion for helping couples strengthen their relationships. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I specialize in working with couples and families navigating challenges such as communication breakdowns, infidelity, intimacy struggles, life transitions, parenting conflicts, and the effects of trauma on relationships.

At SCCS, I provide therapy focused on helping couples identify their goals and take actionable steps toward lasting change. My approach is direct, goal-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based practices like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to address conflict patterns, rebuild trust, and foster deeper emotional connections, empowering couples to grow and thrive together.
